Bishop’s Mission provides peer support with K9 assistance and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) to first responders, while helping departments strengthen the wellness of their support K9s through supplies and education.
Bishop’s Mission supports first responders through two core services:
Support for department-assigned and support K9s through supplies, wellness resources, and education to strengthen agency K9 programs.
On-call peer support services for first responders, providing Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), ASAP (Acute Stress Adaptive Protocol) support following critical or traumatic incidents.
Who We Are
Bishop’s Mission is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing on-call peer support for first responders and ensuring the wellness, readiness, and longevity of the law enforcement service K9s who serve alongside them. We deliver peer support services—including Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and ASAP acute stress support—on a call-out basis following critical or traumatic incidents.
In addition, Bishop’s Mission supports law enforcement agencies through handler education and comprehensive K9 wellness resources, including donated supplies, medical support, and essential services. While departments do an outstanding job securing funding to establish their K9 programs, Bishop’s Mission exists to ensure those programs are sustained through ongoing care and support long after the initial startup investment.

Supporting Bishop’s Mission means standing alongside first responders and the support K9s who protect our communities. Individuals, businesses, and organizations can get involved by volunteering their time, making tax-deductible donations, or becoming a sponsor to directly support on-call peer support services, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and ASAP response efforts, and continuation of care for department support K9s. Every contribution—whether time, resources, or financial support—helps ensure first responders receive timely peer support after critical incidents and that K9 programs are sustained well beyond initial startup.
