Looking into the New year

Looking Ahead: A New Year at Bishop’s Mission

As we move into the new year, our goal is to stay consistent and intentional with our blog—sharing meaningful topics centered around K9 care and peer support. Education and connection remain at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to continuing those conversations throughout the year.

So far, the year has already been full. We’ve participated in station visits, peer support groups, attended classes, and attended one of our favorite annual events—the First Responder Blessings Breakfast. This year, we were especially honored to be invited on stage during the prayer for K9s. It was a meaningful moment and a well-deserved recognition of the dogs who serve alongside our first responders every day.

We’re excited to see what the rest of the year brings.

On February 1st, we kick off our Walk with Bishop event. Participants can walk at their own pace with a goal of completing three miles over fourteen days. Our private Facebook group will serve as a place for community—where participants can share progress, encouragement, and successes along the way.

This year also marks the launch of our K9 Wellness & Ready Bags. These starter kits are designed to support natural and calming K9 care and are intended for department-assigned and support K9s. We’re proud to collaborate with our K9 partners who help make this possible, and we look forward to continuing to grow these partnerships to expand education and wellness resources for departments.

Many department wellness and support dogs do not have a designated budget for ongoing care. That gap is where Bishop’s Mission steps in—helping departments keep their dogs supported, cared for, and ready for their next shift.

We’re grateful for the continued support from our community and look forward to another year of growth, education, and service—supporting both ends of the leash.
